TABOR

In November 2005, voters in Colorado approved a five year suspension of the so-called "Taxpayer's Bill of Rights" (TABOR), the strictest spending limit in the nation. Despite TABOR's failure and rejection in Colorado, other states, including Oklahoma, are being urged to follow Colorado's lead in basing the annual budget on a rigid, unrealistic formula. The Alliance for Oklahoma's Future is working to educate the public about TABOR in an effort to keep this "formula for disaster" out of Oklahoma.
